Durvasa Muni’s Vision of Krishna’s Supreme Glory
One day, Sage Durvasa visited Vraja and saw little Krishna playing on the Yamunā’s sandy banks with His friends. Covered in dust and laughing like an ordinary cowherd boy, Krishna appeared so simple that Durvāsā doubted whether He was truly the Supreme Lord.
But soon, Krishna sat on the sage’s lap and, in a divine play, drew him into His mouth through His breath. Inside, Durvasa witnessed extraordinary cosmic visions — countless universes, the cycle of creation and dissolution, and finally the transcendental realm of Goloka Vrindavana. There he beheld Krishna in His eternal divine form, surrounded by gopas, gopīs, and surabhi cows, radiating the brilliance of countless suns.
When expelled back to the earthly plane, Durvasa finally realized that the cowherd boy of Nanda was indeed the Supreme Personality of Godhead, greater than the greatest. Overwhelmed, he offered heartfelt prayers to Krishna, glorifying His beauty, ornaments, and playful charm.
Narada Muni, narrating this story, explained that hearing or reciting Krishna’s pastimes purifies sins, fulfills all desires, and ultimately grants liberation by leading the devotee to Goloka, the eternal abode of Krishna and Radha
